Hello everybody, my name is Sasha. Me and four other group members from Management Communication class will inform the public about CSS tennis and tennis as a sport in general. The CSS tennis season just began last weekend and we have months of excitement ahead of us. I am not going to plan ahead the topics that I will cover because you never know what is going to happen in the sport and in the team. I know some team players, as well as the coach and it will be a great group of people to keep track of in the upcoming season.
As I said earlier during the last weekend the first matches of the season took place. The men’s team played against St.Cloud State, UW-Eau Claire, and St. John’s University. Unfortunately they fell to all three schools with the scores of 8-1, 7-2, 7-2 respectively. Women’s tennis fell to University of North Dakota 6-3.
Even though the team had a bad start this year things should improve as the season goes on. The team has won the last three straight Upper Midwest Athletic Conference championships. With returning players such as Derek Johnson, Will Ruckel, Travis Jones, Scotty Hawley, Ryan LaCoursiere, and Eric VanderStelt 2007 St. Scholastica men’s tennis team is the force to be reckoned with. That being said, good luck to the team in the next matches and take care until the next time.

Hello everyone and welcome to our groups blog on The College of St. Scholastica’s Tennis Team. With a new season recently started, everyone here at CSS is excited to see how the men’s and women’s teams do after both winning the conference last season. The women’s team even recieved an at-large bid to the national tournament. Can the teams continue thier dominance in the UMAC? Throughout the season I am going to be reporting on the status of both teams with one-on-one interviews with some of the players themself.
The men’s team started out this past weekend in St. Cloud. Although losing all three matches, one match was against a Division II school. The women’s team started out by warming up the wellness center last Friday night, they too also lost to a Divison II school. Both teams continue to start up the season this coming weekend down in the Cities. We all hope that Wells Patten, in his tenth year at the helm, can lead them to the top of the UMAC once again. Coach Patten may have to work a little harder with the women’s team this season with a huge part of the team being freshman. The men’s team is more experienced this season than last year.
I hope to hear from all on what you think about the team throughout the season and comments on our blogs. These are the types of blogs that everyone will be excited to read and comment on. As the seaon progresses we will have more and more about the team, the coach, and all that is going on in the world of St. Scholastica Tennis.
